How do you match the people who register with you?

Our systems have been developed over 20 years. We have been computerised since 1988 not long after the first PC became available (with a 20mg hard drive!).

Each person completes the same questionnaire, those offering a room and those wanting a room. This information is transferred into our custom designed database to ensure that each file is carefully and continually matched.

We match two-ways; one person may match on every level but want to smoke inside or have a cat allergy or a large dog that needs a back yard. Some professional people i.e lawyers, economists, doctors want to share with the same, some do not want to share with the same. Each person chooses lifestyle and leisure codes to assist us in refining matches.

Each member is invited to telephone us once a week if they have had no referrals. Files will be rematched to see if something can be changed to encourage a match.

The questions we ask are divided into categories covering - Gender, relationship, work hours, at-home hours, friends, partners, children, pets, food, diet and housekeeping, smoking, drinking and recreational drugs, tv and music, location, rent, type of accommodation.

We also match on age range of friends, lifestyle, upbringing, education, tastes and habits.

Through such detailed matching you will not usually see many people. Many people only see one person ... the right person. The opposite occurs when advertising in the newspaper or on websites that do not have detailed matching.

Seventy percent of our business is word of mouth or repeat business - such endorsement affirms that our matching works. Many people matched through our service stay together for many years, sometimes moving house together 3 or 4 times. On the whole, professional and thorough matching produces better results.

If the right match for you is not available at the time and you find someone independently we place your file on hold and you can reopen it to the value of the fee you paid, for any of our services, at any future date.

We provide a lot of information on this website to assist you to find the right person, to have the right agreement with them, and to find a new person if the relationship deteriorates.
